We’re excited to welcome you all through our doors from 1st August. Your experience as a customer of The Anchorage will, of course, be a little different so we’ve detailed below what you can expect:


  • Reservations are required for all meals. Please call us on 01859 520 225 to book (please don’t email/facebook as these are not always checked)
  • Compliance with Test & Protect is a condition of your reservation
  • Please sanitise hands on arrival
  • There will be a one-way system through the restaurant/bar which will aid social distancing

THE ANCHORAGE RESTAURANT & BAR: Customer Covid-safe policy

All customers must book a table for sit-down meals.  As we are working to an extremely limited capacity, we will not be accepting walk-in bookings at this time.  

Please turn up only at your allotted time; we will not be able to accept customers any earlier than the time given to them.  

Please observe 2m social distancing at all times within the building

Entry and exit to the building will be via a 1 way system only.  This will be clearly marked. 

As you come in the door, you will see a hand sanitising station.  We will not be able to accept customers into the restaurant until they have sanitised their hands.  

There will be a floor marker in front of the counter, where you should wait to be seated.  If there is someone in front of you, please stay 2m behind them, on the designated floor marker.  If there is a queue, you might want to consider waiting in your car until there is space for you to safely get in line.  

You will be shown to your table by your server.  They will issue you with a menu.  

As a condition of your reservation, we will be asking all guests to comply with the Test & Protect system.  Our privacy notice is available for all customers to view, just ask your server.  We would prefer it if all customers would submit their data via the form on our website.  Those unable to do this can give their details to us on arrival.  Data will be destroyed after 21 days.  

Tables will not have any cutlery, condiments, napkins etc on them.  This will be brought to you by your server, as necessary

Please remain seated for the duration of your meal, unless needing to visit the toilet/view goods for sale

Your order will be taken at the table

When your food is ready, your plates will be taken to your table and left on the edge of the table closest to your server for you to assign around the table.  This will minimise contact with customers

If other meal courses are to follow, we would ask that you consider stacking up your plates once you are finished to

If no other courses are to follow, your plates will not be cleared until you leave the table 

Payment by card is preferred.  All payments will be taken at your table.  

If you would like to eat in with your children, we respectfully ask that you consider whether they are able to sit at the table for the duration of the meal.  Children should not run around the restaurant or be unaccompanied at any time. 

Only 1 person should enter the Anchorage toilets at one time unless you are together as a family “bubble” or requiring assistance.
