At the Anchorage, we are committed to using as locally-sourced produce as possible. Located in the heart of the Outer Hebrides, we pride ourselves on sourcing the freshest seafood our island has to offer, with local fishermen landing their catch right on our doorstep! We have a long-standing relationship with one of the island’s finest butchers who delivers to us quality, traceable meats week after week from sustainable Highland and Island farms. Anything that can’t be sourced in the Western Isles is, where possible, brought in from other areas of Scotland. In addition to our culinary offerings, we also love to showcase the best of what Scotland has to offer in our bar. We have an extensive range of malt whiskies and gins, including the now world-famous Harris gin! And in the future we will stock the long-awaited Harris whisky.
Here is a list of our suppliers along with a little bit of information about them and their fantastic products and produce. We are proud to have these people at the centre of the Anchorage’s daily operation and it only seems right to let everyone else know about them, too!
If you would like to be one of our Island or Scottish suppliers, please contact us as we are always interested in what wonders are available in Scotland and on the Islands.

Donald Norman has been fishing out of Leverburgh since he was a young boy. As with so many in the industry, it’s not so much a job for him, but a way of life. Donald Norman works his boat “Harmony” single handed and fishes for langoustine in the Minch (the stretch of water between Harris and Skye). In the summer time, he is hit with a common ailment amongst fishermen, which is known as “lobster fever” and he can be found shooting creels along the stunning west coast of Harris, in search of these blue beauties! Donald Norman’s catch is landed just a stone’s throw away from our door! He keeps the lobsters in the sea for us so we only cook them live from the water.
